My Valentine(s)

I always feel extra mushy on Valentines Day. I know, people think its just a scam to get society to spend a ridiculous amount of money on cards, flowers, chocolate, etc...but I can't help it...I'm a romantic! Everyday I realize how lucky I am to have such an amazing man by my side but just for the sake of V-Day...here are some reasons:

(some obvious, some not so obvious)

He is the father of my baby and a DANG good one at that! I would say our parenting is truly 50/50...he is an amazing father and I will ALWAYS love him for that
He loves to cook me dinner. In this house, I am the baker and he is the cook. He is always experimenting with new recipes and I love it!
He is Mr. Fix it! I mean, it might take him a while to get something but he always will and we RARELY have to call someone out to fix stuff...big $ saver!
He is super sexy! I love my red-headed, muscular armed, deep brown-eyed man!
He is my space heater. I think like a lot of women, I generally run cooler so whenever I hop into bed and am cold, I just cuddle up to him for a few minutes and problem solved!
He loves his family. He is such a family man and always concerned about the well being of our families. It is SO attractive to me!
He makes me LAUGH! This was always such an important quality to me in a man and boy, did I score! He is constantly cracking me up. And sometimes, he does the dumbest things that make him look so stupid and he says "I just like to make you laugh"...uh...be still my beating heart!
I know I said this one but I'll say it again...he is SOO good with Hunter! He loves to play with him and make him giggle...they have a very special bond that only is between them!
He cleans the house for me...enough said!
He takes care of me when I am sick!
AND...Because he loves me as much as I love him!

12 Months Old!

Weighs 23 lb, 12 oz- 65th percentile
31 1/4 inches Tall- 90th percentile
Head circumference is 19.02 inches around- 93rd percentile
Wearing size 18-24 month clothes
Switched to cows milk....LOVES it!
crawling like a maniac but still no walking. He stands and walks along everything.
says "mama", "dada", and "ma" (Mollie-our dog).
Favorite game to play is close and open ALL the doors in the house.

He claps whenever other people clap
He's become quite the dancer...whenever we turn on music or he plays one of his musical toys, he bobs his head and jumps up and down to the beat (sorta).
Is turning into a cuddle bug! He never used to cuddle and it kind of made me sad but now whenever he wakes up from a nap or in the morning, he cuddles all over us. I LOVE every second of it!

Little man has brought us SO much joy and excitement this past year. I didn't realize that being a parent could bring so much happiness and fulfillment! I look forward to all the exciting and craziness the next year has in store for us!

Hunters 1st Birthday Bash!

 Well, it's official...we have a 1 year old! Hunter's actual birthday happen to land on a Saturday this year so we decided to take advantage and throw him a big birthday bash! We had a good old fashion "mustache bash"! We were so lucky to have most of our friends and family join us for the day and help celebrate our little man turning 1. I don't know about other moms but the whole day I felt these strange mixed feelings of overwhelming joy and sadness. I was so happy that our baby is turning into a little toddler but I was so sad that he is not a little baby anymore. Maybe it's just me being over emotional. 11 Months Old!

Even though Mr. H turns 1 this week (gulp!), I am determined to finish his monthly postings!

Fun Facts About Hunter at 11 Months!

Weighs 24 pounds
Wears size 18 month clothing, size 4 shoe
Has 2 bottom teeth and 3 upper
FINALLY figured how to really crawl...we thought he was going to be "army scooting" till he was walking!
Standing up on everything and grazing tables, chairs, and whatever he can stand on
Says "mama", "dada", and the occasional "uh oh"
Is a VERY slow eater...seriously, it takes this kid an hour just to eat 1 waffle
He points at EVERYTHING and EVERYONE
He does not like his bouncer anymore... I never thought we'd see the day. He LIVED in that thing!
Loves to sing
He likes to be read to...but only the first few pages then he wiggles out of my lap
He is starting to experience separation anxiety....he cries when I put him down and sometimes wakes up at night wanting me. Its breaks my heart!
Favorite foods include chicken nuggets, scrambled eggs, bananas, and the occasional bite of frozen yogurt!
Anytime he hears anyone laugh, he tries to imitate their laugh. It's the funniest thing!
Is becoming quite the cuddle bug...He had always been a very independent baby and did NOT like to be cuddled so when he recently started to cuddle on me, it made me SOO happy!

I seriously can't believe our baby is turning 1 this week...and we will officially have a toddler!!! Its so bittersweet but I can't wait for what his next year has in store for us!

Late again! Hunter is actually 11 months now but with the holidays, things were just too crazy! Better late than never, right?

I am still recovering from this past weekend so I will be on here to post in the next few days. Until then, here is some cuteness to hold you over...

A few days ago I got a year closer to 30! Well...26 to be exact. Acoording to my husband, I am officially in my late 20's. I beg to differ. I believe your late 20's happens at 28, EARLIEST 27. But not 26...I am still in my mid 20's. I had a WONDERFUL birthday this year! My day started out with a delicious breakfast made by Ryan. He wowed me with some mouthwatering pumpkin pancakes! Oh, that boy knows the way to my heart...pumpkin! I spent the morning relaxing and he told me to go treat myself to a pedicure. BLISS I tell you! After having a baby, it is pure heaven to sit by myself for an hour and get my feet rubbed! My 2  boys then took me out to a delicious lunch at one of my favorite joints in town, Fioris Butcher Shoppe! Devine! I spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and finished out the evening at Shangri La with my mom, Aunt & Uncle, and of course my boys. A day full of relaxtion and my favorite foods! Oh, and Ryan didn't do too shabby on gifts either. He got me a new lens for my Nikon. It rocks! The next day, he took me to one of my all time favorite places, Lake Tahoe, for a baby-free evening of fun! It was awesome! We went to the movies, out to a fabulous dinner at Fire + Ice, and even put a little money in the slot machines! Without a baby in tow, the options are endless! But of course, NOTHING beats coming home to this face...

Thank you to my wonderful husband for making my 26th birthday one to never forget! Love you babe!

Usually when we get our Christmas tree every year, we go to the Lowe's parking lot. It may sounds ghetto to some but we always find a fabulous tree at a great price. Well this year I told Ryan "we HAVE to go to an actual tree lot that isn't in a parking lot so I can get some cute pictures of Hunter picking out his first tree". So, we found a local tree lot and got some great pictures!

Yes...great pictures indeed. Did we leave with a tree? No! Apparently, Lowe's Christmas tree prices are much more affordable! So, we left the expensive tree lot after using them for some great pictures and got an wonderful ( and affordable) tree at Lowe's!

Thanksgiving 2011 was fabulous! We spent it with my side of the family and almost everyone was in attendance...even my cousin Brian from AZ whom I haven't seen in almost 2 years! We had all the traditional deliciousness...turkey, Nana's famous graving, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, melt in your mouth rolls, strawberry salad, homemade pumpkin pie, and I contributed Oreo truffles! Hunter had such a fun first Thanksgiving! We were able to get some great family photos while there was still some sunshine outside. This is truly my favorite time of the year and I really have so much to be grateful for. My amazing family and friends, a supportive and loving husband, and of course my biggest blessing, Hunter. Life is good!

Its a song about the trials and tribulations that we go through and how we overcome them and view them with a purpose in our life. The video also features Stephanie Nielson, who survived a near fatal plane crash with her husband in 2008. She didn't just survive...she thrived. Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and I have SO much to be THANKFUL for:

1. My beautiful son, Hunter. He is the reason I breathe and he brings so much joy to my life

2. My handsome husband, Ryan. See # 1

3. My amazing family. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be the person I am today

4. My dad. I miss him every minute of everyday but while he was here on earth, he was the best dad in the world! Because of him, I knew exactly what kind of man I wanted as a husband and father to my children. A good man

5. My health. I am So grateful that I am healthy and able to enjoy this life I was given

6. Heavenly Father. He has blessed me with the most amazing life and I am forever grateful

7. My house. I am So grateful to have a warm and cozy place to come home to everyday

8. Baby giggles. Even if I am having a horrible, rotten day, my son always knows how to brighten it up!

9. Being employed. In this scary economy, I am so grateful that my husband and I are both employed 

10. My girlfriends! Seriously, I would go CRAZY without my girls! Everyone needs a good friend to talk to...and I'm lucky to have several

11.Technology. Blogging, Pinterest, Facebook...where would we be without it? Well, we'd live but its nice to have!

12. Traveling. It makes my world go round

13. My Nikon. By no means do I claim to be a "photographer", but I sure am thankful that I have a nice camera to document everything!

14. Baking. (NOT COOKING) Sometimes after a stressful day, I love to get in the kitchen and make a delicious treat. Even if I only have one bite, it just calms me to whip up a yummy treat!

15. Date Nights. Even though they are rare these days, I am so grateful when I am able to have a night on the town with my love, baby free. Every couple needs time to reconnect. 

16. Music. There's nothing like rocking out in your car to a little Adele!

17. Mrs. Meyers cleaning products. Makes cleaning my kitchen bearable!

18. My Car. I am so grateful to have a dependable car to get me around

 It's that time of month...well, actually about 15 days late! But my boy is 9 months old! It was almost impossible to get a good still picture of Mr. H this month. He is such a squirmy little guy and I practically chased him around the house just to get a few good shots!

Here are some fun facts about Hunter at 9 (1/2) months:

Weighs in at 23 pounds...he had a nasty stomach flu last month and that caused him to drop a couple pounds but he finally got back up to the weight he was last month

Says mama & dada! (I'm convinced he knows what they mean but Ryan thinks he's just babbling)
An expert army crawler...he is WAY too fast!

He is just starting to get "separation anxiety". Up until this month, he was so independent and could care less if I was in the room or not but he is definitely more clingy now.

I can't believe I will have a 1 year old in less than 2 months! It's a very exciting and scary thought at the same time. I'm so excited for whats to come in the next few months including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hunter's first birthday! Having a baby makes everything so much more fun!

So...I feel like a terrible mother. I see all these moms who took their kiddies to pumpkin patches and took adorable photo shoots of their babes sitting on a mound of pumpkins. I think it's kind of a "must" for "first pictures" for baby. Well, I was planning on getting some fall pictures of little man up at Apple Hill this year. We never made it there...and I never took his pumpkin pictures. It makes me sad. And yes, even though I did dress Hunter up in a darling little monkey costume, I took like 5 pictures of him...and none of them does he look like a happy camper. I guess I slacked this year. Next year, I tell you....next year I will go ALL OUT!

Today is a special day...it's my moms birthday. 

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful mom. As long as I cold remember she has always been there for more. Supporting me in all my endeavors, helping me be the best "me", loving me no matter what. She has helped guide me through life (so far) and has helped shaped the woman I am today. She is now "Grandma" to my baby boy and I appreciate her MORE THAN EVER! I now see what hard work it is being a mother and I am so eternally grateful for raising me the way she did. Today I celebrate her...Love you mom! 

Ignite the Fight

This past weekend we traveled to my sisters hometown of Chico, Ca where we participated in the "Ignite the Fight" 5k walk/run. My sister organized the ENTIRE event on her own! And it turned out AMAZING! Her goal was to have 300 participants...she had 389! So awesome! The reason for the walk/run was to benefit the Firefighter Cancer Support Network. This organization is dear to my sister because her husband of 2 years, Kevin, is a fighter and was diagnosed with testicular cancer over a year ago. Also, our dad passed away almost 8 years ago due to cancer. After surgery to have the tumors removed as well as a round of radiation, my brother in law in now cancer free! My sister and Kevin are so inspiring and I couldn't be more proud to call them family! I was SO bummed that I forgot my camera at the 5k, but I did snap a few iPhone pics!

*On another note, our family is STILL fighting this nasty stomach flu! It has made its way to every single one of us, including extended family. We are going on day 8 of being under the weather and yes, we participated in the 5k being sick...thus a PATHETIC finish time. Oh well...it was for a good cause!

This past week we traveled to southern California to visit Ryan's sister, her hubby, and their adorable baby Krew! To be honest, I am just not up to writing any sort of long, funny, or witty post. My family has been fighting the stomach flu for the last few days and I am POOPED! But I know if I don't document this now then it will never happen. So be prepared...lots of cute pictures with very little explanation. To make a long story short, we spent one day at Disneyland (crazy with 2 babies but SO fun!) and another day at Huntington Beach.Enjoy some picture overload!

Las Vegas (with a) Baby!

This past week we packed up our baby and headed to Vegas! Now, most people might say "why on earth would you go to Las Vegas with a baby?" 1) CHEAP flights 2) There is SO much more to Vegas than gambling and drinking yourself into oblivion! We swam, napped, ate delicious food, looked at the beautiful flowers at the Bellagio Conservatory, shopped, and walked the strip to our hearts content (well, Hunter loved it...he got pushed). I did lots of research where we should stay and we ended up picking the Trump Hotel. I chose this hotel for a couple reasons. They are a non-casino and non-smoking hotel! That is hard to find in Las Vegas. We didn't have to worry about walking our baby through a smokey casino. It was set back a little bit from the Strip so it was a little more quiet, not so CRAZY! And every room had a kitchenette, which came in super handy when making Hunters food/bottles. And let me tell you...the room...INCREDIBLE! Seriously, the nicest hotel room I have every stayed in. I actually felt a little out of place because it was SO nice! For the 4 days we were there, I got to pretend I live the high class lifestyle. With that being said, I was happy to come back to my small cozy home. When we checked in on Monday afternoon, we were upgraded to a strip view. (We had originally paid for the studio room, city view). I asked them if there were any 1 bedrooms available for upgrade and they said they could but for a little bit more than we paid. We decided to go all out and get the 1 bedroom...and boy, am I glad we did! It was SOO nice having a separate place for Hunter to sleep. We didn't have to turn all the lights out at 8!

After we stopped gawking at our room, we headed to grab lunch at Stripburger (so good) and took a dip in the pool! Heaven I tell you! After a relaxing dip in the pool, we ventured out to the strip and ate at a little Italian joint in the Venetian.

The next day we walked to strip (may I add, in the 100 degree heat) and went the Bellagio Conservatory. Every season they change all the flowers and we were lucky enough to see their fall display...SO AWESOME! It makes me even more giddy for the fall season! Hunter loved it too! He really enjoyed looking at all the colors and displays.

After the conservatory, we headed over to Serendipity 3  where we had the most amazing lunch! The menu was HUGE...everything you could ever want! Ryan had the biggest hot dog I have ever seen...and in Ryan fashion, he ate the whole thing! Hunter just enjoyed munching on his melty puffs. After lunch we headed back to the hotel where we all took naps. The joys of vacationing with a baby! We headed out to dinner that night at Maggiano's and then back to an early night in.

The next morning we woke up early and went over to Treasure Island to have their breakfast buffet (per Ryan's request). After breakfast we walked more of the strip, shopped, and ate. Seriously...we walked a lot...and we ate a lot. They cancelled each other out.

We had SO much fun in Vegas and surprisingly, a very fun place to bring your little one! Hunter loved just being pushed around in his stroller all day long and observing all the lights, colors, and weird people that Vegas has to offer. I'm sure we will be back again someday!

Sick and Tired

I am so SICK and TIRED of all this self-hate propaganda crap that is flying around pinterest! People talking about how being thin is the only way to be, how they wish they had a gap in between their thighs and that their hip bones would protrude. Seriously people...not healthy! Now, I realize I am not the most self confident person on earth. After having my son, I am stuggling with my "new" body. But my only goal is to be HEALTHY! Not twig thin! And don't get me wrong...I am NOT saying that thin girls aren't beautiful. They absolutely are...but I wish people would see that ALL women are beautiful. Not just the stick thin ones. I find it funny and kind of ironic how half of the pins on pinterest are delicious looking recipes with no calories spared while the other half is about not eating and doing everything to be teeny tiny. Weird. I realize I probably don't have a huge following on my blog but if you are reading this PLEASE remember you are beautiful the WAY YOU ARE! Cliche? Maybe. True? Absolutely! I know, I know...I need to listen to my own advice. But I am working really hard on actually BELIEVING my husband when he tells me how beautiful he thinks I am. Gals, don't let others tell you just because you don't fit a certain "image" that you are not gorgeous...you ARE!

7 (1/2) Months Old!

Our little man is 7 1/2 months old! I'm a little late on posting this cause...well...no good reason. I'm busy, ok! Here's whats new as of late...

Weighs an estimated (meaning we weighed him on our scale) 22 pounds!
Got his first TOOTH! The only real teething symptoms he had was excessive drooling and sleeping more...yes, I know I'm lucky
Has a pretty strict schedule he sticks too...and this makes life easy for everyone!
Not crawling yet...but he's definitely "scooching"
Smiles NONSTOP...he is such a happy baby!
Loves to swim...he can just float around in his froggy float forever...this boy is a fish!
Eating LOTS of big boy food...I have yet to find something he won't eat.
His favorite toy is still his jumperoo
Wakes up every morning at 7 SHARP...but he will play in his crib for an hour by himself letting Mommy & Daddy sleep in till 8!

DOES NOT like to be cuddled! It kind of breaks my heart a little bit. I try to cuddle on him and he just pulls away. He DEFINITELY gets this from Daddy!

P.S.- Does anyone else agree that this new interface is awesome?!? It takes like a fraction of the time to upload pictures. Maybe I will actually post more now!

For the last couple months I have been following THIS blog. It is a young family of four who's little girl Ruby, was diagnosed with liver failure at 2 months old. They have done everything possible to get her a new liver but Heavenly Father had different plans for sweet Ruby. She passed away last Thursday evening and my  heart breaks for her family. I don't know them but I feel as if I do because I have been following their blog and the story of their little girl. As soon as I read that she had passed, I broke out crying. I immediately went into Hunters room, picked him up from his sweet slumber, and hugged him tight. Now having a little one of my own, I can only imagine what it would be like to see his little body fight for life everyday. I could only imagine what it would be like to lose him. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as I will be doing for them and their sweet angel, Ruby.

I love traveling...always have, always will. When I got pregnant with Hunter, I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to travel again for a LONG TIME! I got some great advice from fellow moms telling me not to STOP doing the things I love simply because I have a child. Just incorporate him in our lives and he will adapt. That has to be one of the best pieces of advice I have ever listened too.

We decided to take a last minute overnight trip to Lake Tahoe...just the 3 of us. And it was glorious! We played in the sand, went on walks, swam in the pool, ate delicious food, napped, shopped, and just enjoyed each others company. Lake Tahoe is such a beautiful place and we are so lucky that we are only a short 2 hour drive away.Daddy & Hunter

Hunter is 5 1/2 months old! I got very busy this month thus the delay with his monthly report!

Fun facts about Hunter this month:

17 pounds and wears 6-9 month clothing...he's a big boy!
Started rolling over this month and now there's no stopping him!
Finally got bored of his trusty play mat and graduated to a jumperoo!
Found his voice! What once was a tiny squawk is now a LOUD scream...so fun for mommy & daddy!
LOVES to squeal in delight! He does it all day long...and it's SO cute!
Still sleeping through the night
We have nicknamed him "Mr. Serious". He just loves to observe everything around him and treats it like a serious job!
Starting to teeth ( just as of a couple nights ago)...we haven't seen any teeth yet but he has all the classic signs of teething.
LOVES when I sing to him! His two faves are "Hush Little Baby" and the theme to "Three's Company" (I know, totally random but I just started singing it one day and he loves it!)

I can't believe our little guy is almost 6 months old! HALF A YEAR! People are seriously not kidding when they say time goes by EXTRA fast when you have kids! Being Hunters' mama has been the absolute best thing in my life and I can't wait for everything to come!

16lb, 5 oz (80th percentile)

He is starting to chew on EVERYTHING he can get his hands on...but his favorite is his fingers
Starting to make lots of "ohh and ahh" sounds
Getting MUCH better at tummy time...still not his fave but at least its tolerated now
Loves to watch mommy and daddy cook in his bumbo chair
Smiles all day long but it takes A LOT to get a laugh out of him...he makes us work for it

Sleeping 9-11 hours every night...his record is 12!

So this video is probably boring to most but I can't get enough of it! Those cheeks, those lips, those eyes...can't get enough! Hunter is a wonderful self soother (good for Mommy!) and so whenever he starts to fall asleep, he starts to make this humming noise. It cracks me up every time! So I was trying to capture it on video but as soon as I got close enough, he opened his eyes and just stared...kinda like "uh, excuse me...I'm trying to nap". Gotta love him!

Santa Cruz

I love Lodi! I love the small town feel and the fact that we are only 2 short hours away from EVERYTHING...the beach, snow, and big city! My family and I moved here from Santa Cruz when I was 17 and even though it was a pretty tough adjustment at first, it turned out to be one of the best things in my life. If we hadn't of moved here I would not of met my husband and we wouldn't have our beautiful son. But whenever I go back to visit Santa Cruz, I can't help but marvel at the beauty and I want to kick myself for not taking advantage of the beach more for the 12 years that I lived there. We decided to take a little day trip this past week and take Hunter and Mollie girl to the beach! Unfortunately, it was FREEZING so Hunter wasn't able to stick his little toesies in the sand or water...he was bundled in the baby bjorn the whole time. But Mollie...that's a different story. She had a BLAST! She has never been to the beach before and it was so fun to watch her roll around in the sand and run as far and fast as she can. I only got a few pictures because my arms were full carrying Hunter in the baby carrier, the diaper bag, and camera case. Babies come with stuff!

My 1st Mothers Day...

This Mothers Day was very special to me. It was the first Mothers Day that I actually got to be honored as well. I was so excited to be able to celebrate with my family. Our celebration started on Saturday when my sister and her husband Kevin came into town with Kevin's parents. We packed up a picnic and went out to a local winery where a live band was playing. It was such a beautiful day outside and we just enjoyed listening to the music and soaking up some rays.getting some loving from Auntie Kimmy

The next morning Ryan woke me up with a light breakfast in bed. I got adorable cards from Hunter, Ryan, and even Mollie girl! And Ryan and Hunter got me a Kodak Touch video camera! Ever since Hunter was born I have been begging Ryan for a video camera so I can capture all the adorable things Hunter does! I would normally just use the video on my iphone but the microphone doesn't work so there is never any sound. So expect lots of videos from now on! That morning we went to a Mothers Day brunch at one of my favorite restaurants in town, Phillips Farm. We met up with my mom, brother, sister, her hubby Kevin, and his parents. After breakfast we took some family pictures and walked around the beautiful property. When we got home all 3 of us took a nap then spent the rest of the afternoon at Ryan's parents with all of his family. It was such a PERFECT day and I will always remember my 1st Mothers Day!I found them like this after I got out of the shower...melts my heart!

3 Months Old!

Some fun facts about Hunter at this age:

He weighs in at about 15 pounds...I weighed him on our scale so I'm not sure how accurate it is
He is in size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothing
He stays awake A LOT longer during the day...his naps only last about an hour
He hates a binkie but LOVES his hands...I guess that's a good thing because he can never lose them!
He loves him play mat! He's really into grabbing things so he loves to just sit under his toys and grab them
He is definitely into giggling and he thinks its hilarious when I stick my tongue out and make a "fart" sound...probably not the best thing to teach him
He loves going to Target with Mommy....every time we go he falls asleep in the cart making my shopping trip a lot more enjoyable
He still hates tummy time! He's getting much better at lifting his neck and chest up but he just HATES being on his tummy
He is still sleeping 8-10 hours every night...BLESS HIM!
He smiles for Mommy and Daddy all day long but as soon as company comes around or the camera comes out, he turns into Mr. Serious

We fall more in love with this little guy every single day he is with us and I can't believe how LUCKY and BLESSED we are to have him!

In Honor of the Royal Wedding

OK, so I have been SO sick of hearing all about the Royal Wedding. Just like election time, I couldn't wait for it to be over. I swore I wasn't going to watch it and be OBSESSED like the rest of our country. But last night, I caved. I decided to set my DVR (I was NOT going to wake up at 2 am!) and this morning I watched the royal nuptials as I fed little man. It was beautiful and the bride looks so elegant and classy. My favorite part you ask? When William first saw Kate and he whispered to her "you look beautiful". You can tell their love is real.

It got me thinking back 3 years ago to our wedding. For all I knew it could of been the "Royal" wedding because I did feel like a princess for a day...not that I am the "princess" type but for once in my life all eyes were on me. Just thought I'd share some of my favorite pictures from our day...

EGGcellent Easter!

Yes, I am a total nerd for using that title but I can't help it. We spent our first Easter as a family at my sisters house in Chico. We got up there Saturday evening and went out to dinner and yogurt. Yum-o! I didn't get any pictures out to dinner but I did get some adorable shots of Hunter with his Uncle Kevin and Aunt Kimmy!

Southern California!

Last weekend the family and I took a little vacation to sunny southern California! This was Hunter's first time flying and he did VERY well...of course I wasn't too concerned considering I had Ryan and my mom in tow! We stayed with good friends of ours in Cypress. The main reason we were visiting was to celebrate our friends son's 1st birthday party! But as a little bonus, we got to go to Disneyland and the beach! I was probably the most excited considering I grew up going to Disneyland and I have so many great memories from there. I couldn't wait to take our son for his first time...even though he's only 2 months old and won't remember it. This was definitely a trip of "first" for little man...first airplane ride, first "swim" in a swimming pool, first time to Disneyland, and his first time to the beach! He is become quite the traveler!

That Saturday, Greyson had his first birthday party! It was "Superhero" theme and let me tell you...they went ALL OUT! Every detail was superhero! The cake, the decorations, the bounce house, and all the kids dressed up too! Even though Hunter slept pretty much the whole time, we still had a blast!

25 Years Ago...

My best friend on the face of the planet was born! Today I celebrate him and all that I love about him! Here are just some of the MANY things that I love about him-

He is so kindhearted! He would do anything for his friends and family and always puts them ahead of himself
He is so darn handsome...I just cant get enough of his beautiful brown eyes and adorable red hair!
He makes me laugh! He always does the silliest things and when I ask him why he's so crazy he says "I just like to make you smile"....ah, be still my beating heart!
He is so ambitious and truly the hardest worker I know. He has successfully started his own business from the ground up and I am amazed by his incredible work ethic everyday. He is always thinking about how he can provide a better life for his family
He is an AWESOME daddy! He is soooo good with Hunter and I couldn't of picked a better man to father my children!
He definitely knows how to have a good time! He is still somewhat a child at heart (aren't all men?)and he takes having fun very seriously! A quality I know will come in handy with our kids!
He loves me for exactly the women that I am! And for that, I love him for eternity!

2 Months Old!

Hunter is 2 months old! (I am about a week late posting this)

Here are some fun facts about Hunter at this age:

Weighs in at 12 pounds 3 ounces- Between 50 and 75th percentile
Height is 23.5 inches- 75th percentile
He is learning how to imitate us. When we stick our tongues out at him, he sticks his right back. Maybe not the best game to teach our son but he loves it!
Just started giggling a few days ago...it's the cutest thing!
Definitely recognizes Mommy and Daddy from anyone else
HATES tummy time! He is having trouble holding his neck up when he is on his tummy but we are definitely working on it everyday
Sleeping 8-10 hours at night...YES, I realize how lucky we are!
Had had quite a few "first" in the last month- first airplane ride, first time "swimming" in a pool with Daddy (more like splashing around), and first time to Disneyland!
LOVES the vacuum! If he is crying or fussy, I just turn on the vacuum and he calms down right away! I wish I could say the same for Mollie...shes terrified of it!
Has started to reach for objects and trying to grab them

We are loving every single second with our little man and are enjoying seeing all the changes in him...even if they are coming too quick!

This past Sunday was Hunter's blessing and it was BEAUTIFUL. He was blessed by his Grandpa (Ryan's dad) Mark. He said the most thoughtful words to him and I even shed a couple tears. As I sat and listened to our little man being blessed, I couldn't help but think about how incredibly lucky I am to have such a beautiful baby, an amazing husband, and wonderful family. There is no doubt that this new man in my life has changed me, has changed our family. He is so innocent and pure and I don't want anything to taint him. To me, he is perfect in every way. All I want for him is to be happy in life. I know that the older he gets, the more trials and hardships he will have to face. He will go through times where he will be sad and times where he will feel joy. When he hits his teenage years I know he will want to rebel and probably will (hopefully not to the extreme). I cringe thinking about the day he utters the words "I hate you Mom" out of anger and rebellion. I want to cry thinking about him feeling rejection in school whether is be from friends, girls, or both. I cant imagine the day he leaves for college and his room is empty. But for now, all I can do is smile looking at his angelic face. He makes my world so much brighter. And I am forever thankful for the joy he has brought me.

I love him. I just can't believe how lucky I am to be this handsome guys MOM! I can't believe he is almost 2 months old! I know, it is still so young but people are not kidding when they say don't blink because they grow SO FAST! He started smiling a few weeks ago and I honestly can't get enough of his gummy smile (see picture above). I honestly can't remember what life was like without him...crazy, because it was only 2 months ago that it was just me & Ryan. I often wonder what the heck I did all day long without this little bugger. Well, besides work. Ugh...speaking of work...I'm DREADING the day I have to leave this cutie to go back. But for now...I'm just enjoying having him all to myself, all day everyday! Motherhood isn't just a blessing...it's an honor!
